What is the Beers, Buddies, and Birdies Golf Tournament?
The Beers, Buddies and Birdies Golf Tournament is a spin off tournament from some of our other fun sporting events operating in Calgary. The purpose of these events is to bring professionals, entrepreneurs, and friends together in a very fun, relaxing, slightly competitive, yet enjoyable sports format that encourages camaraderie and an opportunity to network.
So whether you're a scratch golfer, new at the sport, or want to bring the family out, this tournament has a place for you. So get your team together and register your foursome or register as an individual player, and we will get you on a team. Fun golf, good eats, cold drinks, prizes, raffles, and great memories.

The HeatherGlen Golf Course
In a serene area just outside busy Calgary, you'll find HeatherGlen, a nearby golfing destination with 18 holes of adventure amid beautiful city and mountain views. This Calgary golf course is a place you may have heard about before, maybe you've even visited once or twice. But HeatherGlen has made great changes in its layout and facilities in the past few years, and you really should play here again to find out why this club is growing in popularity.
Once upon a time, ours was a private club that was built in the 1980s. Then in the early 1990s, new owners arrived and launched a renovation that has turned HeatherGlen into a showpiece among Calgary golf courses, a place where golfers of all skill levels can have a great time and a facility that aims to provide the public golfer with beautifully maintained facilities and great prices..

9:30am Shotgun Start, 2:30pm Clubhouse Social, 5:00pm Steak Dinner, 6:00pm Prizes and Awards (times are estimates and are subject to change).
Format:
Texas Scramble - 4 Player Team. Each player shoots a ball at each shot location, team decides which shot to keep.
Divisions:
Teams will be placed within divisions with those with similar handicaps.
Tournament Fees:
$250 + 5% GST per Golfer
$995 + 5% GST for Team Registration of 4 Golfers.

How Do You Register your team or as an individual?
Please email patrick@wheelhousebay.com and we will provide you with the easy next steps to get you and your team registered.
If you are looking at registering your TEAM as a FOURSOME
Once you submit your email stating you would like to register a foursome for the golf tournament, you will receive a registration package that covers everything you need to get your team registered.
Information you will be asked to submit in a form we will provide:
Team and Player Information
- Team Name: Example, 'The Chippers'
- Each player first and last name
- Each player email address
- Each player cell phone #
- Each player handicap
- If you do not know at this time please label TBD, however we will need this information no later than August 22, 2023.
2) Proceed to make payment of $1,044.75 ($995 foursome fees + 5% GST), via one of the following ways:
- Paypal through the link we will provide.
- Send e-transfer to patrick@wheelhousebay.com.
- Call the General Manager and we can process payment on your credit card over the phone.
- A receipt will be issued.
Registering as an INDIVIDUAL
Once you submit your email stating you would like to register as an individual, you will receive a registration package that covers everything you need to get registered.
Information you will be asked to submit in a form we will provide:
Player Information
- Player first and last name
- Player email address
- Player cell #
- Player handicap
2) Proceed to make payment of $262.50 ($250 foursome fees + 5% GST), via one of the following ways:
- Paypal through the link we will provide.

- Call the General Manager and we can process payment on your credit card over the phone.
- A receipt will be issued.
All details regarding the entire tournament will be sent out September 8, 2023.
Important Registration Notes
If for any reason the tournament is suspended from playing, the course will offer a gift card for 18 holes and cart to all players. The dinner and celebration will still take place at 5:30pm at the HeatherGlen Clubhouse.
No refunds will be permitted within 30 days prior to the event. We recommend selling your spot to another participant.

How to Win Your Division
Teams will be placed within their respective divisions based on the average of their teams submitted handicap scores. Example, Dave is 12, Allen is 20, Mark is 16, and Sandy is 16. 12+20+16+16 = 64/4 = 16 avg. handicap. This may change and is dependent on submitted handicap scores.
Division A - Handicap average score -0 to +5
Division B - Handicap average score 6 - 11
Division C - Handicap average score 12 - 17
Division D - Handicap average score 18 - 23
Division E - Handicap average score 24 to 29
Division F - Handicap average score 30+
The team with the lowest score within each division will win their respective Division Championship.
Score Tracking
We will be utilizing both a live scoring app and scorecard to keep track of scores. Teams are required to submit their scorecard to the Golf Reception Desk as soon as their round is complete.
KidSport Raffle
- We will have a raffle for KidSport to help Kids remain in community sports. For every $250 a team sells in Raffle Ticket sales, earns them $25 in HeatherGlen Pro Shop Gift Cards redeemable for merchandise, drinks and food for that day. Great prizes for top 3 fundraising teams.

Governance
The Beers, Buddies, and Birdies Golf Tournament is a private golf tournament operated under Wheelhouse Bay Sales and Marketing. The KidSport Raffle is the only revenue channel within the tournament that generates funds for the KidSport charity. The raffle ticket funds and prizes are collected and distributed by RaffleBox to KidSport Calgary.
